Klaipeda remains Baltics' No 1 container port in January-October

Klaipeda posted a decline in container traffic for January through October 2015, but held onto its number-one position in the Baltic countries in terms of overall TEU handling volumes, the port's authority said on Monday, cites LETA/BNS.
The Lithuanian port handled 319,300 TEUs in the ten-month period, down by 14.1% from 371,800 in the same period last year.
TEU traffic in Riga fell by 8.4% year-on-year to 295,000 units and Tallinn recorded a 20.7% decline to 176,400 units. Liepaja saw TEU traffic go down by 2.7% to 3,000 units.
TEU traffic in Klaipeda increased by 11.8% in the full year 2014 compared with 2013 to 450,400 units.
