A delegation from Lithuania and China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine are to sign in Beijing on Thursday protocols on breeding animal and milk product exports to China, informs LETA/BNS.

According to the business daily Verslo Zinios, it is a formal trading authorization and how soon livestock and milk powder exports are actually launched will depend on when certificates are approved by the authorities.

Following the signing of the formal documents, the technical details will have to be worked out and approved by the authorities, which may take several months.

All major Lithuanian milk processors and livestock growers and sellers have already expressed their wish to begin exports to China.

The Chinese have inspected Lithuanian companies and have said that their products meet China's food safety requirements.
