In 2014, the output of the ICT sector in Lithuania increased by 6%

Statistics Lithuania informs that an annual publication Information Technologies in Lithuania 2015 has been released. Based on provisional data, in 2014, compared to 2013, the output of the ICT sector increased by 6% and accounted for 3.5% of the output of non-financial enterprises (in 2013, 3.2%).

The growth was conditioned by the output of newly established information and communication technology equipment wholesalers (27.1%). The output of the rest of enterprises in the ICT sector marginally decreased or increased.

 

The largest decrease in output was observed in the manufacture of computer and peripheral equipment (7%) and consumer electronics (1.5%).



 

In 2014, compared to 2013, the value added of the ICT sector increased by 1% and accounted for 2.6% of the value added in the whole economy. The largest increase in the value added was observed in software publishing (47%) and manufacture of electronic compo­nents and boards (31%).

 

Meanwhile, the largest decrease in the value added was observed in the manufacture of communication equipment (68%) and consumer electronics and magnetic, optical media (54%).
