The “golden” September in Klaipeda Seaport

Year-on-year changes of the overall turnover in September of 2015 according to cargo types:
- Liquid cargo – 639,8 thou. tn were handled, +21,8% or +114,7 thou. tn yoy;
- General cargo – 1 018,2 thou. tn were handled, +8,0% or +75,8 thou. tn yoy;
- Dry and bulk cargo – 1 887,0 thou. tn were handled, + 9,7% or more + 166,1 thou. tn yoy.
Within the period
of January – September of 2015 the cargo handling turnover in Klaipeda Seaport
reached 28,92 mln tn, i.e., more by 9,3% or by 2,46 mln tn comparing with
January – September of 2014. It is the new cargo handling record reached within
the period of the first nine months – higher by 5,5% or 1,51 mln tn than the
record result achieved in 2011. 36,6 mln
tn were handled in 2011.
Cruise shipping. 50 vessels with 59 016 passengers on board were
recorded to call the Seaport of Klaipeda in May- September of 2015. It is the new record number of cruise
passengers. Last year 57 797
passengers visited Klaipeda.
