Estonia's Company of the Year 2015 is Kodumaja

Estonian construction company Kodumaja AS was declared the Company of the Year at the Estonian Best Enterprises 2015 award ceremony on October 8th, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Kodumaja is an Estonian capital-based company that designs and builds wooden buildings from factory-made elements and exports almost all of its production.

 

The Company of the Year was selected from among the winners of the Entrepreneurship Award, organised by Enterprise Estonia, and Estonian Companies’ Competitiveness Ranking, organised by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation.

 

Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Estonia, Hanno Tomberg said that Kodumaja is an excellent example of a company that is based on Estonian capital and that has successfully proved itself in Estonia as well as internationally. “Export is the magic word for our companies that will help them grow. What is remarkable about Kodumaja is that they export practically 100% of their production, while being in the top of their field as well as a responsible employer,” Tomberg described the winner.

 

Jüri Käo, Chairman of the Council of the Estonian Employers’ Confederation, said: “ A precondition for a successful society is the functioning and free economy. The latter is carried by entrepreneurs who create value for us all with their daily work. This competition makes me proud each year, because Estonia has so many forward-thinking entrepreneurs and competitive companies in so many different areas of activity.”

 

Other winners of the Enterprise Estonia Entrepreneurship Award 2015 were: Adcash (Innovator of the Year), Kodumaja (Exporter of the Year), UPM-Kymmene Otepää (Regional Company of the Year), Playtech Estonia (Responsible Company of the Year) and Westaqua-Invest (Foreign Investor of the Year).

 

Winners of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation Estonian Enterprises’ Competitiveness Ranking 2015 were Interstudio (The Most Competitive Micro-Enterprise 2015), Adcash (The Most Competitive Small and Medium-sized Enterprise 2015) and Merko Ehitus (The Most Competitive Large-Scale Enterprise 2015).

 

The jury for the Company of the Year award consisted of: former Entrepreneurship Minister Urve Palo, Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Kristen Michal, head of the Company of the Year 2014 Top Marine Andry Prodel, President of the Bank of Estonia Ardo Hansson, Rector of the University of Tartu Volli Kalm and entrepreneurs Oliver Väärtnõu and Kati Kusmin.
