Tele2 4G+ network to be available in another Latvian 15 towns and cities

In order to improve its Internet connectivity and speed, the mobile telecommunications company Tele2 is developing its 4G+ or ''LTE Advanced'' network in areas where its has already introduced its 4G network, the company informs LETA.

Tele2 and ''Zelta Zivtina'' clients are currently able to access the 4G+ network in Riga and Ventspils. However, by the end of this year, clients will be able to access the 4G+ network in Daugavpils, Jelgava, Liepaja, Sigulda and Rezekne, but next year will also be available in Cesis, Dobele, Jurmala, Kuldiga, Ogre, Olaine, Salaspils, Saldus, Tukums and Valmiera.

 

As reported, Tele2 turned over EUR 103 million and earned EUR 17.2 million last year.


The company's turnover reduced 6% last year, as compared with 2013, when Tele2 turned over EUR 110 million. Meanwhile, the company's profit went down 7% last year, as compared with 2013, when the profit reached EUR 18.5 million.

 

Tele2 launched operations in Latvia as Baltkom GSM in 1997, when it became the second mobile phone operator in the country. In 2000, Baltkom GSM was acquired by Sweden's Tele2 corporation, and changed its name accordingly.
