Taxify in Estonia launched carpooling application

BC, Tallinn, 29.08.2015.Print version
The team at Taxify have created a carpooling mobile application titled Hopp as a pilot project, writes Äripäev.ee/LETA.

The application helps those travelling between Tallinn and Tartu to conveniently find free seats in cars moving in the same direction, and for drivers to save fuel money.

“Hopp will make it possible for travellers to move from one city to another for a charge starting with one euro, and instead of travelling from bus station to bus station, to reach the door of one's destination,” said CEO of Taxify Markus Villig.

He added that for drivers, the application is a convenient way for saving up to 80% of one's fuel expenses, and find a conversation partner for a long drive.

Taxify is growing at a fast pace in the city transport sector in Europe, and in Estonia more than 100,000 people have benefited completely from the new way of using taxi services on an everyday basis. Now we also see a potential in inter-city transport for innovations, and hence we launched the separate application Hopp as a pilot project,” said Villig.
