Estonian farmers expect very good grain crops in 2015

BC, Tallinn, 19.08.2015.Print version
If there will be no weather damage in late summer 2015, Estonian farmers expect to reap very good grain crops this year, and hence expect also to increase exports, writes LETA/Postimees.

Grain exports last year grew by 19% in comparison with the year before, but the earnings from these fell by 0.4% in the year-on-year comparison.

“This year we expects to see for the first time more than half of Estonia's grain production to be exported,” said grain trade enterprise Copenhagen Merchants grain broker Indrek Aigro.

Last year, the greatest exports market was Saudi Arabia, where barley was exported. Germany was second, and third was Kenya. This year's destination countries have not yet been determined.
