Alcoholic beverage production in Latvia increased by 3.3% in H1

Print versionIn the first half of the year, a total of 2.659 million decaliters of alcoholic beverages, excluding beer, was produced in Latvia — a 3.3% increase compared to the first six months of 2014, reports LETA, according to the State Revenue Service.

The volume of fermented beverage production increased the most — 23.2%, while wine production decreased by 17,000 decaliters or 19%.
Small producers of alcoholic beverages produced 2,470 decaliters of alcoholic beverages in the first six months of 2015, a 20% decrease compared to same period last year.
98% of small producers' beverages are fermented drinks.
