Gaujas koks profit up 8%; new factory to be built in Latvian Vangazi

The Latvian wood processing company Gaujas koks turned over EUR 55.85 million in 2014, which is 1% more as compared with EUR 55.74 million in 2014, reports LETA, according to Firmas.lv information.

The company's profit went up 8% – from EUR 4.28 million in 2013 to EUR 4.64 million in 2014.

 

According to Gaujas koks management report, in 2014 the company sold 220,079 cubic meters of finished products. From the total volume, 125,000 cubic meters was planed timber. In addition to the finished products, the company also sold manufacturing byproducts – woodchips (412,000 cubic meters), bark (58,000 cubic meters), and sawdust (287,000 cubic meters). Raw materials – logs – were bought in Latvia, as well as imported from Lithuania, Belarus, and Russia.

 

Last year, the company continued investments in its factory in Krustpils by installing a production line with the annual capacity of 50,000 cubic meters. The factory also has a new wood impregnation facility.

 

This year, the company began constructing a specialized wood panel factory in Vangazi with the annual capacity of 100,000 cubic meters. Investments are estimated at EUR 20 million in total.

 

Gaujas koks was founded in 1991 and its share capital is EUR 1.56 million. The company fully belongs to Vitalijs Cmihovs.
