Construction company BMGS posts 13% increase in turnover in 2014

The joint-stock construction company BMGS posted EUR 97.924 million in turnover in 2014, a 13% increase on 2013, reports LETA, according to Firmas.lv.

In 2013, BMGS turned over EUR 86.979 million.

 

BMGS profit in 2014 totaled EUR 1.148 million, down from EUR 2.714 million in 2013.


BMGS specializes in hydraulic construction, bridge construction, and pile foundations. The company makes concrete, reinforced concrete, and metal constructions, provides geotechnical services, and rents out construction machinery.

 

The company's management report informs that the largest projects implemented by BMGS last year included laying foundations for reservoirs at Rinuzi oil terminal, infrastructure development in Krievu Island, reconstruction of a sorting facility at Skirotava Station, renovation of a Freeport of Ventspils pier, building a second railroad line from Skriveri to Krustpils, reconstruction of Zvejnieki Port pier in Liepaja, embankment renovation in Kipsala, and others.

 

The company also implemented many projects abroad last year, including a pier construction and embankment renovation at Klaipeda Port, designing and building a liquefied gas terminal in Klaipeda. The company's Estonian branch built a new cruise liner wharf at Tallinn Port, and the company's offices in Sweden were actively involved in sale of and building private homes in Stockholm and Norrkopping.

 

This year, BMGS is planning to increase the amount of hydraulic engineering and other projects in Latvia, continue operations in Russia, Lithuania and Estonia.

 

BMGS is a successor to Tresta Baltmorgidstroy, a company established in 1952.

 

The company's largest shareholder is Viktors Para with 25% of shares. The other shareholders are two legal entities and eighty private individuals.
