Latvian Osukalns turnover grew by 41% in 2014

The turnover of the Jekabpils multi-branch company Osukalns increased by 41% in 2014, reaching EUR 28.72 million, as compared with EUR 20.37 million in the 2013, reports LETA, according to Firmas.lv information.

The company's profit went up from EUR 2.13 million in 2013 to EUR 2.14 million in 2014.

 

According to Osukalns management report, last year the company continued to export round timber to China. At the end of the year, the company also started exporting sawn timber to China.

 

Last year, Osukalns began reconstructing its sawmill, continued producing woodchips and sawdust that is used in heat and electricity generation at biomass cogeneration plants.

 

The report indicates that the turnover was mostly made up of income from road construction orders, which increased 20% from 2013, as well from successful sale of sawdust blocks.

 

Osukalns was established in 1993. The company has 277 employees. Its share capital is EUR 18,504. Osukalns deals with wood processing, road construction, mining, real estate, sale of spare parts for trucks, reconstruction of truck trailers, and heat production.
