Revenue for postal services in Lithuania grew by 11.4% in Q1

Based on the data of Lithuania's Communications Regulatory Authority, in the first quarter of 2015 year-on-year, the total revenue for provision of postal services increased 11.4% – from EUR 25.1 to EUR 28 million, reports LETA/ELTA.

Revenue for items of correspondence sent and received increased by 14.7% – from EUR 10.1 to EUR 11.6 million. Whereas revenue for postal packages increased by 4.4%, from EUR 12.6 to EUR 13.2 million.

 

In the first quarter of 2015 compared with the first quarter of 2014, the aggregate number of items of correspondence increased by 24.6% – from 16.5 to 20.6 million units. The growth was mostly influenced by the increase of international items of correspondence. The number of postal packages increased by 8.4% – from 2.1 to 2.3 million.

 

In the discussed period, the number of domestic outgoing items of correspondence decreased by 5.9%, while domestic incoming – decreased by 3.6%. The number of domestic outgoing postal packages increased by 12.9%, and domestic incoming – fell by 35.1%.

 

The number of international outgoing and incoming items of correspondence grew by 2.7 times. The number of international outgoing postal parcels decreased by 17.8%, incoming – increased by 6.4%.

 

Revenue for universal postal services increased by 19.2% – from EUR 3.33 to EUR 3.97 million.
