During the conference One Belt, One Road – Visions and Opportunities held in Klaipeda, leadership of China's province of Xinjiang and representatives of the largest Chinese companies engaged in the sector of transport, logistics, construction, and rolling-stock were introduced to Lithuania's sectors of transport and logistics, business cooperation opportunities, and business investment environment, reports LETA/ELTA.

"The visit of China's delegation is very important to us. We must be able to convince these partners to work on our common tasks by marshalling container trains from China via Klaipeda and vice versa," said Stasys Dailydka, head of the state company Lithuanian Railways.

Chen Dayong of CRRC Corporation also says that the company sees cooperation opportunities with Lithuania.

"I see opportunities of cooperation by manufacturing locomotives with a local company here in Lithuania – the Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot. We call it a local production line. Lithuania could be the place of final assembly of rolling-stock," he said.

China is seeking to revive the Silk Road, connecting it with Europe by the land and sea.
