In April, retail trade turnover in Latvia grew by 4% y-o-y

Data of Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to March, the total retail trade turnover in Latvia in April 2015 rose by 0.1%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Compared to April 2014, the total retail trade turnover in April 2015 increased by 4.0%.

Retail trade in food products rose by 0.6%, whereas turnover of non-food products dropped by 0.2%.

 

Compared to March, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in April rose by 1.0%. A year ago – in April 2014, compared to March – turnover grew by 4.0%.

Compared to April 2014, the total retail trade turnover in April 2015 increased by 4.0%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 1.2%. In non-food commodity group there was an increase of 5.9%, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – of 4.2%.

 

Total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 1.1% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In first four months of 2015, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, retail trade turnover in total has grown by 6.6%, according to calendar adjusted data. Retail trade in food products grew by 3.3%, retail trade of non-food products – by 8.8%.
