3.9% increase in tourists visiting Jurmala in 4 months

According to the latest statistics from the Central Statistical Bureau, there was a 3.9% increase in the number of guests staying in accommodation establishments in the coastal resort city of Jurmala in the first quarter of the year 2015, when compared to the same quarter last year, cites LETA.

As Jurmala City Council spokeswoman Zane Leite informed, 47.5% of the guests staying in accommodation establishments in Jurmala were from Latvia, while 52.5% – guests from abroad.

 

Jurmala remains the second most popular destination in Latvia after Riga, as 7% of the total number of foreign guests choose to stay in the city.

 

Most of the foreign guests visiting Jurmala were from Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Belarus, Sweden, Germany, Uzbekistan, Norway, Ukraine and Finland.

 

In the first three months of the year, there was a 240% increase in the number of guests from Sweden, 33% increase in the number of guests from Poland, 25% increase in the number of guests from Latvia, 20% increase in the number of guests from Lithuania, 12% increase in the number of guests from Belarus, and 7% increase in the number of guests from Estonia.
