Concentration of logistical activities in one place will promote establishment of warehouses and related infrastructure, as well as distribution of multimodal cargoes to Western and Eastern markets.

Transport and Communications Minister Rimantas Sinkevicius said at the opening ceremony that Vilnius and Kaunas terminals would undoubtedly be beneficial to residents, companies and the state. They will create new jobs, while the budget will receive additional revenue. More goods will be transported by more environmentally-friendly modes of transport thus reducing pollution, traffic jams and traffic accidents.

According to the minister, services of the two terminals will be available to all companies on equal conditions. New facilities are located conveniently in terms of transport – near I and IX international transport corridors, near Vilnius and Kaunas international airports, and Kaunas Free Economic Zone.
