Hong Kong market opens for Estonian chilled and frozen poultry

Print versionPeople's Republic of China Hong Kong's Food and Environmental Hygiene Agency approved health certificates of poultry meat produced in Estonia; AS HKScan Estonia that applied for the import permit can start exporting chilled and frozen poultry to Hong Kong, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

"The emergence of access to Hong Kong's market is an important milestone for us, because in the size of population, it exceeds the size of the Baltic market," said Director General of Estonian Food and Veterinary Office Ago Pärtel.
He explained that at present, AS HKScan Estonia can start exporting chilled and frozen meat to Hong Kong, as it is the only one that has applied for an import permit and each company must apply for recognition separately.
