Lithuania steps up cooperation with China's Shandong Province

On 18 May in Vilnius, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Krisciunas and Vice-Governor of Shandong Province Xia Geng opened a business forum, which was attended by about 50 representatives of Chinese enterprises and 70 representatives of Lithuanian companies, reports LETA/ELTA.

Business meetings were also held and interests of the two countries were presented.

 

During the event, government agencies Enterprise Lithuania, Invest Lithuania and Shandong Province small and medium-sized enterprise office signed a Memorandum of Understanding on promoting cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprise, Lithuania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

 

Shandong delegation also met with the Minister of Agriculture Virginija Baltraitiene, visited Klaipeda region, which the province has close ties since 2005 to, when Klaipeda and Qingdao signed an agreement on partnership cities. Chinese delegation met with the mayor of Klaipeda Vytautas Grublyauskas, representatives of Klaipeda State Seaport SEZ. They discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation in the field of business, transport, logistics, tourism, culture and sports.
