Estonian Air passenger numbers on regular flights grew by 8.7% in April

In April 2105, Estonian Air carried 46,089 passengers, out of which 45,918 on regular flights; the number of passengers on regular flights increased by 8.7% compared to the same period last year, the company announced LETA.

In the first four months of this year, Estonian Air carried altogether 160,020 passengers, out of which 156,201 on regular flights. The total number of passengers on regular flights increased 4.4% compared to the same period last year.

 

“Resumed summer routes in March and April, and increased sales on destination markets have positively influenced our results in April,” said Indrek Randveer, CCO of Estonian Air. “The most requested destinations in April were Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam and Stockholm. Also, our summer destinations Berlin, Paris and Vienna were popular among travellers in April.”

 

In addition to direct flights, Estonian Air is providing more than 280 destinations around the world together with partner airlines. For instance, Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen and Amsterdam airports act as important hubs for connecting flights. In April Estonian Air passengers took connecting flights from Amsterdam to 142 destinations, New York, Lisbon and Glasgow being the most popular, and from Copenhagen to 72 destinations, London, Luxembourg and Doha being the most popular.

 

In the first four months Estonian Air operated 3,712 flights, which is 12.6% more than during the same period last year. In April, the airline operated 1,083 flights, which is 12.3% more than during the same period last year.

 

In the first four months, the regularity of Estonian Air flights was 98.3% and the 15-minute punctuality was 90.9%. In April, the regularity and punctuality were 97.9% and 85.8% respectively.

 

Estonian Air, Estonia’s national carrier, is the biggest operator at Tallinn Airport. The airline flies regular routes to Stockholm (Arlanda and Bromma), Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Oslo, Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Vilnius and Trondheim.

 

From December 2014 to October 2015, Estonian Air operates seasonal flights to Munich. In addition, from March to October 2015, Estonian Air flies to Paris and Berlin, from April to October to Nice, Vienna and Split, and from April to November to Milan.
