Production growth of 7.1% in manufacturing sector was mostly promoted by growth in manufacture of basic metals (JSC KVV Liepājas metalurgs started production). Increase of 14.9% in electricity and gas supply was promoted by production growth in water-power plants. In turn, mining and quarrying witnessed a decline of 2.6%.

Compared to March 2014 industrial production volume in March 2015 (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices) grew by 8.7%, of which in mining and quarrying – by 7.4%, in manufacturing – by 7.6%, and in electricity and gas supply – by 12.3%.

In March growth in industrial production was recorded in manufacture of basic metals, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products – of 40%, in manufacture of furniture – of 8.8% and in manufacture of wood and of articles of wood – of 7.7%.

Compared to the 4^th quarter of 2014 industrial production output in the 1^st quarter of 2015 increased by 0.9%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing there was an increase of 2.9%, and in mining and quarrying – of 8.2%. Electricity and gas supply witnessed a drop of 10.9%.

Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, in the 1^st quarter of 2015 industrial production output grew by 1.6%, and according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Of which in manufacturing there was an increase of 4.2%, and in mining and quarrying – of 10.4%. Electricity and gas supply witnessed a drop of 7.7%.
