Latvian plywood producer Verems plans to increase turnover 10% in 2015

The Rezekne Special Economic Zone wood processing company Verems increased its turnover by 3% and profit by 6% in 2014, reports LETA, according to Firmas.lv information.

The company's turnover last year amounted to EUR 25.441 million, as compared with EUR 24.879 million in the previous year. Meanwhile, the profit reached EUR 3.223 million, as compared with EUR 2.757 million in 2013.

 

According to Verems management report, the profit will be used to cover the losses of the previous years.

 

The report also says that last year, thanks to investments, the plywood production volume increased 3% – the company produced 33,787 cubic meters of plywood in 2014.

 

This year, the company plans to increase its production volume by 12% to 37.9 tons, while the turnover could increase by at least 10%, exceeding EUR 28 million.

 

The average number of staff at Verems in 2014 was 331. The company belongs to Latvijas Finieris.
