Vika Wood Latvian sawmill saw increase in turnover and profits in 2014

The Vika Wood Ltd. sawmill in Talsi Region in Latvia, owned by and Icelandic company, operated with EUR 59.13 million in turnover in 2014, which was 5.7% more when compared to the previous year, when the company posted EUR 55.98 million in turnover, according to information from Firmas.lv, cites LETA.

Meanwhile, the company increased profits from EUR 1.62 million in 2013 to EUR 2.60 million in 2014.

 

The company also invested EUR 500,261 in its development last year.

 

Vika Wood is one of Latvia’s leading, and largest, sawmills with a total annual production of about 280,000 m3 of sawn timber.

 

Vika Wood is located in Latvia's Kurzeme Province near Talsi (western Latvia).

 

The sawmill’s products are sold worldwide, for example, in the Far East, Middle East, Northern Africa and Europe.

 

The company was established in 1995 and currently employs approximately 150 people.

 

According to Firmas.lv, the company's shares are owned by Iceland's Norvik hf.
