Swiss International Air Lines Sales Director for Scandinavia, Finland and Baltic countries Urs Limacher pointed to convenient connections offered by Zurich Airport, where passenger transfer takes just forty minutes, thereby indicating that the airline was hoping to fly more passengers to Zurich from which it offers flights to 106 destinations. The airline's emphasis is on individual approach to customer and comfortable conditions for Business Class passengers, both on board and at the Zurich Airport. In the meantime, the Economy Class presents advantageous prices – EUR 145 for a return ticket.
The airport's representatives also told the press conference that the February issue of the airline's in-flight magazine "Swiss Magazine" ran a double-page spread about Riga.
Swiss International Air Lines profit increased 31 percent to CHF 347 million in 2014. The airline's passenger turnover totaled 16.17 million passengers in 2014 when it offered flights to 106 destinations in 49 countries – 80 destinations in Europe and 26 in other continents.
As reported, Swiss International Air Lines connects Zurich with Riga three times per week, starting today.
With the summer flight schedule setting in at Riga International Airport from March 29, the Scandinavian airline SAS returned to the airport, and Ukraine International Airlines also started operations.
