EUR 5.3 mln to be invested in creation of new bio-pharmaceutical center in Riga

Print versionEUR 5.3 million will be invested in the creation of the Baltic region's most modern bio-pharmaceutical center in Riga, LETA was informed by the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis.

EUR 4.5 million worth of funding will come from the European Regional Development Fund, EUR 644,00 will be invested by the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, while EUR 167,000 from the national budget.
Creation of the center will allow to conduct the highest level of pre-clinical studies of the drugs action mechanisms, to engage in chemical and biological research projects and significantly expand the cooperation with the pharmaceutical industry in Latvia and other countries.
The new center will be 1,676 m2 and will be located on Aizkraukles Street 21 in Riga.
The laying of the foundation stone of the center to take place on March 5th, 2015.
