Riga International Airport is also one of the most secure in terms of baggage safety. In 2014 only 0,2 bags were lost per 1000 passengers, which is one of the lowest number in aviation services industry worldwide. According to 2014 SITA baggage report the world average is 3,3%.

That is the most important indicator of our success.”

In 2014 at Riga International Airport, ground handling services company Havaş Europe handled 22,357 flights (tournarounds) and 2,9 million passengers with more than 2 million baggage, as well as servicing 4.827 tons of cargo. 

Havaş Europe ensures full passenger and operation services including passenger and baggage handling, ramp, aircraft cleaning, load control and communication, cargo, flight operations, transportation, representation and supervision services to airBaltic, Turkish airlines, Transaero, UTair, Onurair and Corendon.

Havaş Europe is a subsidiary of Turkey's well-established ground handling services company, Havaş. In Europe, with the strategy of expanding to the international market and becoming a global brand, Havaş Europe currently operates in Latvia providing services at Riga International Airport, and in Germany, providing services at Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin Tegel, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Düsseldorf airports. Havaş Europe provided service to approximately 50,000 flights in 2014.
