In connection to the breakage of the recently completed gangway, Port of Tallinn carried out in addition to continuous regular maintenance, additional checks on all gangways that are in use.

The company confirms that all nine gangways that are in use in Old City Harbour comply with the conditions of safe operation. The Estonian Technical Regulatory Authority is also currently performing checks on the gangways.

Today, specialists from Tallinn University of Technology began conducting an investigation into the causes of Sunday’s gangway breakage accident. After receiving the results of this investigation it will be possible to draw conclusions on what caused the accident and the breakage of the gangway’s construction element.
