LT Game Jam, now in its ninth year, is held annually in three cities in Lithuania – Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda. Liudas Ubarevicius, chairman of the Lithuanian Association of Game Developers, believes the event will stimulate further growth in Lithuania's burgeoning games sector. "We hope that LT Game Jam will lay the foundation for the development of a number of successful Lithuanian games and will accelerate the formation of new game development teams and companies, and encourage pupils and students to pursue a career in the game industry".

The events main sponsor, Lithuania-based Game Insight, is one of the world's largest game developers. Anatolijus Ropotovas, manager of Game Insight, said the company were happy to support LT Game Jam. "Leading in the Baltic region, we are pleased that we can contribute to the promotion and support of the local game development communities that are growing every year", Invest Lithuania said.
