35 mln customers served since Lido-Krasta Street opened in Riga

The restaurant and recreation center on Krasta Street run by the Latvian catering company Lido, has served more than 35 million customers during the 15 years since it opened, the company informed LETA.

In the 15 years, this establishment has provided an average 33% of the company's total turnover.

 

Lido-Krasta Street can serve up to 1,000 customers simultaneously. In 15 years, 4.5 million kilograms of potatoes, 4.5 million kilograms of other assorted vegetables, 252,000 liters of kefir, 2.6 million liters of Lido beer, and 2.67 million Lido pastries have been consumed. The most popular dishes are shoe-string potatoes, meat patties, and shashlik. The restaurant's vast Beer Cellar is the only one of its kind in Latvia.

 

Lido-Krasta Street has over 200 employees. The center is in a territory almost six hectares.


According to audited financial results, Lido achieved its largest turnover of five years in 2013 – EUR 29.72 million.

 

In its catering business, the company saw a 12% increase in turnover.

 

Meanwhile, the company's profit almost tripled when compared to 2012 – from EUR 344,309 in 2012 to EUR 863,678 in 2013.

 

Lido currently runs nine restaurants in Latvia, and one in Tallinn. The company also operates a food production base, beer brewery, confectionery, and a shop in Riga.

 

The company was founded in 1991. Its share capital is EUR 14.11 million. Gunars Kirsons is the founder, owner, and head of Lido.
