Profit of Lithuania's manufacturing industry grows to EUR 0.67 bln in Q3

Print versionThe aggregate profit of Lithuania's manufacturing industry has grown from LTL 1.9 billion (EUR 0.55 billion) in the third quarter of 2013 to LTL 2.3 billion (EUR 0.67 billion) in the third quarter of 2014, reports LETA/ELTA.

Profits fell only in the sectors of textile, primary manufacture of metal products, and printing and reproduction of recorded media, reports the daily Verslo Zinios website vz.lt.
Food industry earned the highest profit totalling LTL 370 million (EUR 107 million).
Compared with the third quarter of 2013, the profit of the food industry companies increased by 3% or LTL 14 million (EUR 4 million). Meanwhile, compared with the first quarter of 2014, the aggregate profit of food companies increased by LTL 49 million (EUR 14.2 million).
According to Vera Bevziuk, Deputy Head of the Enterprise Statistics Division of Statistics Lithuania, only gross profits in the food industry increased, whereas pre-tax profit has declined.
