Latvian food companies will participate in the Moscow international fair "World Food Moscow 2014" this week, reports LETA.

Latvian Investment and Development Agency informed the business portal Nozare.lv that from today until September 18, the agency will display a national stand of Latvian food and beverage producers at the fair.

It will feature six Latvian companies – sparkling wine and juice producer Sula, egg producer Balticovo, meat processing companies Rital D and Almava, fish cannery Banga LTD, and bread producer Bakerstreet.

The agency stressed that Russia's sanctions affect only a small portion of Latvia's export to Russia. The current task is to maintain the export and prevent its volume from decreasing.

In 20 years, "World Food Moscow" has become one of the leading venues for food and drinks producers and distributors to meet.

The international fair features companies from all over the world, visited by enthusiasts from various markets, including former CIS countries.

The exhibition features various food product groups – frozen products, sweets and confectionery, canned products, oils, fats and dressings, milk and meat products, beverages, fish and sea products, fruit and vegetables, tea and coffee, and much more.
