“Baltic PR Awards 2014” is open for applications

BC, Riga, 09.09.2014.Print version
Baltic PR Awards, the leading annual communication management forum in Northern Europe to be held on November 14, 2014 is open for application. Participants are invited to submit the entries to the contest by October 17; however, those who choose to apply before September 26 will be eligible to a substantially reduced submission fee, informed BC Ieva Stūre from Latvian Public Relations Consultancies’ Association.

“We expect more participants this year, and this is going to lend more importance to the awards. Participation gives you the benefit of an outside perspective from an international jury, which may be conductive to further self-improvement. Also, there have been a number of innovations: some categories have been defined in greater detail, new categories have been introduced, and two application deadlines instead of one have been set to encourage stepping up preparations,” says Egle Klekere, Board Chairman of the Latvian Public Relations Consultancies’ Association.

For the first time, there is going to be a separate category for public communication and PR projects implemented by local authorities and government departments. In view of the latest developments in the PR area, a new category has been established for events PR and social campaigns. By the mentioned dates entries in the 13 categories can be submitted for the contest at www.balticprawards.com, section “Apply now”.

Categories, as before, will be evaluated in two stages. The first evaluation stage is going to happen “behind the scenes”: an international jury will evaluate the submitted projects and select four nominees for the finals in each category. In the second stage, i.e. during the final event on November 14, the shortlisted nominees will present their cases for public assessment. The Awards’ Ceremony will mark the conclusion of the event.

For the second year running there is an award for the Baltic States “Agency of the Year”, i.e. the PR & communication agency that has collected the highest number of awards across all the 13 awards’ categories.

The international jury will pay special attention to the validity of the communication campaign objectives, their link with the overall business and activity goals of the company and added value to the overall development of the company or organization. Creativity and innovation will also be seen as important criteria for evaluation.

The communication management forum “Baltic PR Awards” organized by the PR Associations of the three Baltic States is the sector’s largest event regularly taking place in Northern Europe. Since 2005, it has annually brought together more than 200 communication managers and consultants from the Region and provided an opportunity for sharing best practice examples from across the Baltic States, as well as led to new knowledge and contacts.
