Representatives of more than 20 Estonian hotels and restaurants visited Moscow tourism convention to attract Russian tourists, the Estonian national broadcasting corporation ERR said in a statement referring to ETV. Estonia was visited by 300,000 Russian tourists in 2012, writes LETA.

According to Moscow residents, the procedure for handling a visa is the major challenge when planning a visit to Estonia and the EU.

Representatives of hotels in Tallinn, Haapsalu, Parnu, Tartu and Saaremaa went to Moscow to present themselves.

"There are lots of different Estonian hotels here from Tallinn, Haapsalu, Pärnu, Tartu, Saaremaa who are promoting their products here. If we do not introduce ourselves to guests, they won't know to come visit us," said Heldur Allese, director of the Thalasso Spa in Saaremaa.

Estonia is quite a popular tourist destination among Russia's travelers.

As reported, more than 14,000 Russians entered Estonia through the North East Estonian Narva border town before the end of the last year to celebrate the New Year's Eve and Orthodox Christmas.

Local spas and hotels have been full of Russian tourists in the winter time.

Tourists coming from Russia could boost Estonian tourism even more in the summertime, experts believe.
