EU – Baltic States, Forum, Lithuania

The EU commissioner for taxation, customs union, anti-fraud and audit admitted that the participation in such global exhibitions was very beneficial for our country, yet he regretted that this time Lithuania had very limited financial possibilities for arranging its pavilion. In this year's World Expo, Lithuania presents itself as a country which can be seen in its entirety from a flying air balloon. The European commissioner admitted that only at the country's pavilion he had learnt that Lithuania had most air balloons per 1,000 residents, writes LETA/ELTA.

At the pavilion, Semeta opened a basketball tournament which would take place until the end of September. This week, the EU commissioner visited Hong Kong and Macao and met with high-ranking Chinese officials to discuss cooperation between the European Union and these two regions in the area of taxes and customs.
