The most interesting exhibits will be put on display in the near time whereas in the future, the museum may hold a larger-scale exhibition.

“We’ve got a response to our initiative and are moving to the second stage, which involves physical delivery of exhibits… The campaign will not be stopped and will continue,” Ruta Kackute, director of the museum, told BNS.

Asked about the most interesting exhibits, she mentioned a T-shirt with thirty embroidered words or phrases associated with the lockdown as well as wedding face masks created by designers.

“Of course, we also collect the items reflecting the actual situation. We’ve got travel notes from Asia and also an excerpt from a personal journal from Italy, i.e. people traveled in other countries during the lockdown and kept diaries describing changes in the situation. We are aware of a similar diary here in Lithuania and I hope we will get it in order to be able to show the differences in lockdown experiences to future generations,” Kackute said.

The museum would soon ask the medics to provide samples of coronavirus tests, she said adding that the local authorities of Vilnius, Kaunas and some other cities had been sending public warning signs from the lockdown period to the museum.

The museum also expects to receive virtual exhibits, such as entries in online personal journals, digital photos and video clips.
