Foreign embassies traditional Christmas Charity Bazaar will be held in Riga
The Charity Bazaar, which will be held for the 22nd time,
presents a cross-national cultural experience and an opportunity to taste
typical food and drinks, as well as purchase original gifts for your loved ones
– presents, handicrafts, toys, handmade items, wine and delicacies from all
around the world– a perfect choice for Christmas Shopping.
The Christmas Charity Bazaar is supported by foreign
ambassadors with their families, and a strong international community. One can
enjoy Christmas Carol singing by children and taste culinary products from all
around the world presented by through the embassies and participate in
auctions and games.
Thanks to the festive atmosphere the Christmas Bazaar has
also become very popular with the local community, with many Latvians
attending to enjoy the international experience. Notable local officials
also join, and last year, Latvia’s First Lady Iveta Vejone attended, bought
gifts and chatted with guests and volunteers.
At last year’s Christmas Bazaar more than €40 000 was
raised, through the support of our sponsors, Embassies, and the IWCR
Members. All the proceeds were donated to 17 charities all around Latvia,
carefully selected for their impact in Latvia, and focus on women and
children.
The Christmas Bazaar will take place on Saturday, December 1
from 11-16 PM, in Riga City Council, Ratslaukums 1, Riga.
