BC, Riga, 16.11.2017.Print version
Today, the Sixth international conference eCom21 started in Riga , gathering around 600 professionals from the field of e-commerce and related industries. The forum will discuss the most topical issues that are points of concern for the industry participants and will consider topical trends and the latest solutions for the successful operation of a business. The eCom21 conference is traditionally held under the patronage of Rietumu Bank, informed BC bank’s press service.

Guests of the conference were welcomed by the Executive Director of eCom21 Ilya Shevchenko. He noted that with every coming year, the number of conference participants is growing. “There are many of those who have been with us for the sixth year in succession, but I am also glad to see many new faces. And all of us have reason to be proud of this conference, which has become an irreplaceable event. Figuratively speaking, it is both an English club, where one likes to go for communicating with like-minded persons, and an eastern bazaar, where one can find everything he might need. An example of this is a dozen and a half exhibition stands, which represent practically all trends of e-commerce. It is also a kind of Roman forum, where recognised experts, from whom one can learn a lot, hold their speeches,” said Ilya Shevchenko.

Speaking about the key theme of this forum, he emphasised the necessity to understand the needs of the specific human being – when focusing on this, one can achieve success today. “At previous conferences, we spoke about different trends of e-commerce – the entertainment industry, the new formation of money, the future of payments, the interpenetration of East and West. There is a human being behind all of this, our customer, for the sake of whom we keep working day by day, creating new businesses and developing advanced solutions. So, let us continue developing e-commerce of the future for the human being of the digital age,” said Ilya Shevchenko, appealing to the forum’s participants.

The main theme of this forum is “E-Commerce HD2 – Homo Digitalis in High Definition”. Human beings will be the focus of attention of the participants, as it is their wishes and requirements that are the main motivator of progress in the e-commerce industry.

Alongside the main theme, other important trends and issues of e-commerce will also be discussed, such as significant changes in the regulation of e-commerce, the future of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, the rapidly developing internet of things, cybersecurity, prospects of new markets and others.

During two days, guests of eCom21 will be able to listen to speeches of authoritative experts and successful entrepreneurs, take part in discussions, exchange opinions in an informal environment and establish new business contacts.

Today, on the first day of the forum, representatives from famous services such as Alibaba Group, eBay Russia, Yandex.Money, VKontakte, as well as VISA payment system, Rietumu Bank, Skolkovo Fund, the Latvian State Revenue Service and other experts, will hold their speeches.

On Friday, speeches of top managers from Globitex, Google Russia, OZON.ru, ESET, ICOnic.vc, CleverDATA, Deloitte and other international companies are scheduled.
