Rietumu Bank will present its opportunities at the Middle East Grain Congress in Dubai
With account of the current growth rates of the population, North Africa and the Middle East have traditionally been a significant market for wheat. According to the conference organisers, the 2015/2016 season demonstrated a reduction in the supply of products to the Middle East countries, while North African importers continued to increase purchases of wheat. According to forecasts, this trend will continue also in the current season.
For the second consecutive year, the conference will be held
in Dubai, U.A.E. This city is rightfully considered to be a major trading hub
for agricultural products in the Middle East. This is due to its convenient
geographical location and access to the markets of the Persian Gulf countries,
North Africa and the entire Middle East region.
Participants of the upcoming forum will discuss the trends,
legal aspects and quality issues of the world grain trade. The delegates will
focus on the global market for grain, the record harvest of the last
year, prospects for the current year, as well as separate cases of the Black
Sea and the Southern Mediterranean regions.
According to Sergey
Zakharov, Head of financing trade operations of Rietumu Bank, “Over a number of years Rietumu Bank has been providing trade finance services for exporters
and enterprises engaged in international trade. We tightly cooperate with grain
industry companies – suppliers of goods, logistics and transport companies, and
see that this is one of the industries which develops always, even in periods
of an economic crisis. At present, many companies are increasing volumes of
transactions by using bank financing. I believe that this forum will contribute
to the establishment of new links and business contacts.”
Organiser of the conference is APK-Inform Agency. More
