"Open house" days at rebuilt Art Museum in Riga: 125,000 visitors counted

Municipal authorities in Riga are reporting that the tremendous interest in the newly reconstructed National Museum of Art, has (Kr.Valdemara St.) resulted in 125,000 persons taking advantage of the five-day "open house" policy, informs LETA.

Olegs Burovs, director of the Riga City Council Property Department, said that today's number of visitors was about 15,000.

 

Burovs commented that his office expresses gratitude to the many visitors for their "interest and dexterity" in having to wait outside in a long queue. "Such enormous interest from the populace truly makes us feel satisfied; it is a wonderful gift," Burovs added.

 

The building itself is still empty, but the grandest of grand openings is scheduled for May 4, 2016.
