EU – Baltic States, Forum, Latvia, Markets and Companies

The cat show is scheduled to take place at the Riga Olympic Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday, November 28-29.

Some 500 cats from the Baltic States, Scandinavia and other European countries are expected to participate in the show.

"This will be a real festival for all cat fans. During the two days of the exhibition, visitors will have the opportunity to see cats of more than 30 various breeds, to learn from experienced breeders about peculiarities, characteristic features and care of particular breeds, as well as to attend the presentation shows dedicated to specific cat breeds," said organizer Aija Nuke.

Taking part as special guests of the exhibition will be cats from Latvia's "Ulubele" animal shelter, which will be raising money for its residents at the event.

The competition's panel of judges, certified by Federation International Feline (FIFe) and World Cat Federation (WCF), will include representatives of Latvia, Germany, Poland, Denmark, France, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Russia. At the end of the event they will select the most excellent cats which will be competing for the prestigious Best in Show title.
