BC, Vilnius, 23.09.2015.Print version
Distinguished young professionals from all over Europe will soon gather in Vilnius. From October 1 to 4, World Economic Forum youth organization Global Shapers will be hosting the Shape Europe event, also known as Youth Davos. More than a hundred Global Shapers community members will join the event in Vilnius, City Municipality's press service reports BC.

Extraordinary key-note speakers such as an award-winning computer engineer who blends art and technology Alberto Levy, a social entrepreneur and head of Business Development at Al Jazeera Media Training and Development Centre Youssef Gaboune and others will be speaking at the event. "The new generation of young change makers needs to better understand human behaviour and how human societies work, and to develop the capacities to build strong communities and to redesign the systems of power and wealth for a new civilization centred on human well-being," says Gaboune.

100 Lithuanians will be provided with the opportunity to meet Global Shapers from Europe, if they meet the requirement. "This event is exceptional as it connects community members from different countries. For a few days they discuss the most important issues for youth, they share what practises work well in their countries, what can be adapted elsewhere. This time for one day – 2 October – selected Lithuanian youth will also be able to join the discussions," – says Laurynas Rekasius, the coordinator of the Shape Europe event.

The participants of Shape Europe work for such companies as Google, Twitter, Amazon, Blackphone.

The main topic of the event is Global Citizens, Local Challenges.
