One of the largest startup conferences in the Baltic countries, "Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015", will be held in Riga on November 7, as the organizers of the conference told a press conference today, cites LETA.

According to the organizers, the conference will bring together over 650 young businessmen, experts, and investors from Silicon Valley and Europe to share their experience and know-how, and foster innovations in the Baltic region.

Uldis Leiterts, founder of the data visualization startup Infogr.am, said that the conference's motto this year was "Money Goes Where Talent Grows". "Technology startups are developing rapidly all around the world, not just in Silicon Valley, and investors are ready to invest in powerful ideas and talented teams, regardless of where they are located," said Leiterts. "The decisive factors include an idea, knowledge, and skills to convince investors about the team's ability to implement the idea. If you have these, the money will come, regardless of where you are."

Ten internationally-acclaimed speakers from Silicon Valley will address the conference, as well as representatives of the Baltic region's success stories – Ask.fm, Infogr.am and Transferwise.

"Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics 2015" is one of the largest technology conferences in the Baltic countries, the aim of which is to foster the development of the Baltic startup ecosystem, production of innovative products, attracting investments, and development of new cooperation networks. The conference was first organized in Vilnius in 2012 to a great success. The annual conference has been attended by more than 6,000 participants since.
