60 restaurants, manors and castles to participate in the annual "Gastronomy Festival" in Riga

The annual "Gastronomy Festival" starts this week on August 26 and in the course of more than 10 days will take place at almost 60 restaurants, cafes, bars, patisseries, bakeries, and pizzerias in Latvia, informs LETA.

This will be the opening fringe event of "Riga Food 2015" that will be held September 2-5, organized by BT1.

 

The festival will take place from August 26 to September 6 and during this festival everyone will have the opportunity to taste new dishes and feel unique flavor combinations.

 

Guests are welcome to enjoy the meals in Riga, Liepaja, Sigulda, Malpils, Dikli, Marupe, Ventspils, Jurmala, Pure, Skrunda, Rezekne, Cesis, Tukums, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Pilsrundale, Skriveri, Pinki, and Jaunpils.

 

Also, this year Latvian manors and castles will participate in the festival – Skrunda Manor, Malpils Manor, Jaunmoku Palace (Manor), Jaunpils Castle, Rundale Palace, and Dikli Manor.

 

"The participants of the festival have invested large amount of work to prepare new menus. Furthermore, mainly everyone will offer meals prepared from regional products available in this season, in that way not only supporting local producers but also offering meals from organic products," says Project Manager of "Gastronomy Festival" Maris Briedis.

 

"Riga Food 2015" will take place at Kipsala International Exhibition Center from 2–5 September. “Riga Food 2015” will present products and services offered by about 700 companies from 37 countries. Also a Latvian national collective stands and four regional collective stands will be open. “Riga Food 2015” will present domestic producers, small producers, small and medium-sized enterprises – 64 from Zemgale, 22 from Latgale, 15 from Vidzeme and 14 from Kurzeme region.

 

Apart of the vast food exhibition, “Riga Food 2015” will also offer a series of presentations, seminars and business meetings for professionals. "Riga Food" will also bring together the best chefs, apprentice chefs, bartenders and baristas to show their professionalism, agility and compete for prizes in contests and competitions. Food producers and technologists will compete for the "Riga Food" medals in premium quality food competitions.
