It is expected that in 2016 the number of foreigner tourists in Lithuania will increase even more, now that European aviation experts will visit the country. On 13-15 March 2016, over 400 delegates from aviation sector, including representatives from more than 50 airlines and 150 airports, are expected to take part at the international conference CONNECT to be held in National Art Gallery, informs LETA/ELTA.

The event will be hosted by Lithuanian Airports, one of the fastest growing air gateways in Europe, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said.

At the conference, the representatives of airports and airlines will have the possibility to establish new contacts and open negotiations on the route network development. In addition, the event will offer a variety of seminars, presentations, discussions with guest speakers, the representatives of the aviation sector will discuss the current air system and future prospects.

"Lithuanian Airports are very proud to host CONNECT 2016 and welcome Europe's aviation industry to Vilnius. Lonely Planet, Forbes Life and the Huffington Post acclaimed our country as a must visit destination in 2015, and we would like to share this experience with airlines, airports, and the aviation and travel industry from all around the world," said Gediminas Almantas, CEO of Lithuanian Airports.

"Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, is a dynamic, vibrant and up and coming city. A true jewel, it's a destination with a rich heritage to explore, and awaits tourists with a warm welcome and great hospitality: a fitting location for the CONNECT event. A growing number of airlines and a wider spectrum of airports are turning to CONNECT for a friendlier and more relaxed networking event. CONNECT delivers maximum results thanks to its less pressured and more productive setting," says Karin Butot, Managing Director of the Airport Agency.

According to Ms Butot, 95% of attendees believed that CONNECT conference this year organised in Ireland matched or exceeded their network planning expectations.

"Route development is extremely competitive, and the more opportunities buyers can meet sellers in person, the better. CONNECT provides a platform where delegates have the time to build business relationships and make the connections that matter," said Karin Butot.

The program of conference CONNECT will include face-to-face meetings between the representatives of airlines and airports, business contact fair, seminars, exhibitions, round-table discussions, reports made by the representatives of the airlines and other.
