The State Culture Capital Fund in tandem with the Latvian State Forests/Latvijas Valsts mezi/LVM company, in the target area "Cultural Events of National Importance", have allocated EUR 1.31 million for 62 projects in 2015, reports LETA.

EUR 959,117 is funding from the Culture Capital Fund; the rest is from LVM – EUR 369,383.

The most generous amounts (from LVM) went to the XI Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival (EUR 100,000), and the same amount for the Second Riga International Film Festival.

In the theater arts, the 2014/2015 awards presentation "Spelmanu nakts" was provided financing, as was "Homo Novus 2015" – the international new theater festival.

EUR 53,000 was the largest single amount granted to a project by the State Culture Capital Fund, and the lucky recipient was Latvian State Television (LTV) for production of a series of documentary shorts titled "The Latvian Code. Latvia Today." EUR 50,000 were allocated for a special extravaganza combining theater, cinema and television to mark Latvia's 100th anniversary.

The Capital Fund also granted EUR 50,000 for the Latvian Pavilion at the 56th Venice Biennial.
