Total amount of quick loans in Latvia plunges in 2014

Print versionThe total amount of the so-called "quick loans" has decreased significantly – by one-third during the past twelve months, reports LETA, referring to Latvian State Television.

According to the Consumer Rights Protection Center's data, the total amount has dropped to EUR 68.19 million or 29.65% as compared to the first six months of 2013. The number of quick loans has decreased 22.35%.
Furthermore, the proportion of borrowers who are up to 90 days late with their loan payments has reduced from 13% in 2013 to 9.5% this year.
