Lithuanian Seimas returns draft budget 2015 for revision

Print versionThe Seimas has returned for the Government's reconsideration the draft Law on the Approval of 2015 Financial Indicators of the State Budget and Municipal Budgets, informs LETA/ELTA.

Based on the draft law, the state budget revenue is projected to reach approximately EUR 8 billion, while appropriations for expenditure and purchases stand at around EUR 8.3 billion. The expenditure surpasses revenue by EUR 342 million.
Having deliberated over the draft budget and the submitted proposals, the Seimas Committee on Budget and Finance offered the Government to revise the budget.
Among numerous other changes the committee proposed to allocate additional LTL 85 million (EUR 24.6 million) for the increase of salaries of the lowest earning employees of budgetary institutions and organisations since 1 March 2015.
