Budget revenue of Lithuania's State Social Insurance Fund grows in 9 months

In the first three quarters of 2014 budget revenue of the State Social Insurance Fund (SoDra) increased by approximately LTL 500 million (EUR 145 million) year-on-year, based on preliminary data, cites LETA/ELTA.

In the first nine months of 2014 SoDra's budget revenue collections amounted to LTL 7.3 billion (EUR 2.1 billion) or by 7.3% more year-on-year. Budget revenue surpassed government's projections by 2.4%. Insurance fees composed 97.2% of SoDra's revenue.

 

SoDra's budget expenditure in January-September stood at LTL 8.3 billion (EUR 2.4 billion) or 0.4% less year-on-year and 0.6% less than projected.

 

73.4% of the total SoDra's budget expenditure was spent on pension payments, 11% on sickness and maternity, and 3.4% on incapacity for work social insurance payments.

 

In nine months SoDra's budget deficit stood at LTL 990 million (EUR 287 million), i.e. by LTL 220 million (EUR 64 million) less than projected and by LTL 535 million (EUR 155 million) less than in the first nine months of 2013.
