Estonian budget collects 63.7% annual revenue in 8 months

Print versionAccording to the Estonian Ministry of Finance, the Estonian state budget collected revenue of 5.11 billion euros in the first eight months of the year, which is 63.7% of the total amount planned in the budget for the year, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The expenditures reached 4.98 billion euros, 60.8% of the annual plan.
The state budget collected in eight months 4.38 billion euros of tax revenue, 66.1% of the annual plan. Non-tax revenue formed 0.73 billion euros, 52.6% of the annual plan.
The biggest revenue sources were the social tax revenue of 1.49 billion euros (66.4% of annual plan) and VAT of 1.11 million euros or 66.4% of the annual plan.
The biggest spending articles were main social welfare benefits amounting to a total of 2.1 billion euros.
The government sector budgetary position had a 60 million euros (0.31% of GHDP) surplus at the end of July. At the same time last year the deficit was 33 million euros or 0.18% of forecast GDP.
