Pre-trial investigation was terminated on possible abuse of position by Bank Snoras bankruptcy administrator Neil Cooper and embezzlement of more than LTL 1.2 million (EUR 0.35 million). The bankruptcy administrator even managed to come out of the situation in positive light, informs LETA/ELTA, referring to Vakaro zinios.

His consulting firm Zolfo Cooper compensated in good faith for the damage done to Snoras' creditors. The case against Neil Cooper was dismissed by a decision of Linas Kuprusevicius, a Prosecutor of Organised Crime and Corruption Investigation Department of Vilnius Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"It was a mistake and not a crime," the prosecutor declared on Tuesday. According to him, a thorough pre-trial investigation determined that there were no signs of criminal offences in the Bank Snoras bankruptcy administrator's actions which had raised suspicions at first. "It is indeed difficult to expect a legal solution from the Prosecutor General's Office in such politicised case as Neil Cooper's. The outcome is logical – no one is at fault and the money has returned to Snoras. Highly qualified lawyers were needed to find such a solution, and their services are costly. On the other hand, of all the people westerners can count money. I doubt that they (company Zolfo Cooper) would have given away LTL 1.2 million (EUR 0.35 million) that easily had they been innocent. I do not believe in their goodwill. However, who will check how the LTL 1.2 million appeared in Cooper's company," questioned one of the former heads of the Special Investigation Service (STT) now Member of Parliament Povilas Urbsys.
